FOUNDATION
The objectives of the Foundation course are to understand:
- Key concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2
- How the PRINCE2 principles underpin the PRINCE2 method
- The PRINCE2 practices and how they are applied throughout the project
- Prepare for and sit the Foundation examination
PRACTITIONER
The objectives of the Practitioner course are to:
- Apply the PRINCE2 principles
- Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 practices
- Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2 processes
- Prepare for and sit the Practitioner examination
Please note that the Practitioner course is an examination preparation course and focuses on the application of PRINCE2 to prepare candidates for the Practitioner examination.
To achieve your course objectives, participants are required to complete pre-course work for both courses (refer to prerequisites section).
KEY TOPICS
The courses explore the following content with the Foundation level focusing on the theory, whilst Practitioner considers the application of the method:
Key concepts of projects and PRINCE2
Definition of a project. What makes a project a PRINCE2 project? Features and benefits of PRINCE2. The customer/supplier context.
PRINCE2 Principles
Understanding and analysis of the PRINCE2 principles. Explain which aspects of a project can be tailored, who is responsible and how tailoring decisions are made.
PRINCE2 People
Projects need people, how the project is established and managed depends on an understanding of the needs, capabilities, and motivations of the participants and the relationships between them.
PRINCE2 Practices
Understand the PRINCE2 practices and how they are applied throughout the project, including business case, organisation, quality, plans, risk, change and progress.
PRINCE2 Processes
The principles, practices, and processes are applied by the people involved to ensure that the method is fit for the project context.
