SAFe for Architects Overview
Attendees can improve collaboration and alignment in a SAFe® Lean-Agile enterprise when they become a SAFe Architect. The SAFe for Architects course prepares system, solution, and enterprise architects to engage across the organisation as effective leaders and change agents who collaboratively deliver architectural solutions.
During this three-day course, attendees will explore the roles, responsibilities, and mindset of agile architects, and appreciate how to align architecture with business value and drive continuous flow to large systems-of-systems while supporting SAFe program execution.
This course is for senior technical contributors who need to understand the role of system, solution, and enterprise architects in Lean-Agile enterprises. The course is also appropriate for individuals desiring a deeper view into how architecture enables continuous value flow and how architects engage in, and contribute to, a Lean-Agile enterprise.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain SAFe agile principles
- Apply SAFe principles to managing trade-offs between functionality, cost, risk, and sustainability
- Ensure designs can be implemented in small batches with continuous integration/continuous delivery deployment model
- Communicate solution context and intent to agile teams and trains
- Establish intentional architecture guidelines and enable flexibility to allow emergent technology
- Prepare architectural runway to enable delivery success
- Steer architecture decisions, support risk and issue resolution, participate in management review and problem solving during Program Increment execution

Attending this course prepares you to take the SAFe for Architects (6.0) exam and become a Certified SAFe Architect. The exam is a multiple choice, closed-book, web-based examination (120 mins, 60 questions, 75% passing score) taken after course completion.

Note: First exam attempt is included as part of the course registration fee if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion.
Attendees must attend the three days to be eligible for the exam.
Development Units
Participants who have been awarded the Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential by the Project Management Institute (PMI)® are eligible to earn 21 PDUs for their participation in this course (12 Ways of Working, 6 Business Acumen and 3 Power Skills).
Participants holding any of the Project Management accreditations (CPPP/CPPM/CPPD) are eligible to earn 20 CPDs for this short course.
The following prerequisites are highly recommended:
- Have attended at least one SAFe course
- Have participated in at least one ART and one PI

Is this a certified course?
Yes. The exam for this course is to be undertaken online within 6 months of completing the 3-day training course. Upon passing the exam you will be certified. PM-Partners will provide you with the details and log-ins during the course.
Our website offers three payment options for training courses. When you select "BOOK NOW" you will be taken to the checkout. Step two: "Billing Details" is where you can select from the three payment options:
- Credit Card Payments: PM-Partners uses Stripe payment gateway to process Visa, Mastercard, Amex, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay transactions. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry so you can be confident that your card details are protected for online purchases.
- Bank Transfer: We cannot guarantee your registration(s) until your payment is cleared (bank transfers take 3 days to process). Instructions for payment by bank transfer will be provided at the end of the order process.
- Invoice: An invoice will be sent to you after you complete the booking. Payment is required 14 days before the course start date. If you're buying within 14 days, you need to arrange payment ASAP with a minimum of 72 hours before course start date.
